For Gurugram-born Sahil Sharma, aka Zaeden, it is one way to express the thoughts and ideas that he otherwise wouldn't have been able to do in public. Singer-songwriter, who is on the verge of releasing his second album, admits that his music reflects his growth as an artiste.

"With my first album in 2021, I feel, I was still setting up my musical identity. However, this album goes deeper into its musical influences and emotions. It's had a range of sounds—this one and more complex storytelling, which, I feel, showcases my growth as an artiste," explains the 29-year-old behind popular tracks like Socha Na Tha, Kya Karoon?, Jaaye Na Tu, and the recently released track, Pia.

Zaeden, whose debut single Tere Bina was a "massive hit" in 2019, says, "Seeing that was a big high for me. I realized how original music affects people only after I transitioned from being a DJ-producer. Even today, when I see them singing the lyrics of the song word for word, it is just so touching".

The musician has been able to sow a niche for himself, albeit slowly, in the independent music industry more so. "In an industry that often demands homogeneity, it is the authenticity, therefore he opines that sets an artiste apart and creates a lasting impact."

Calling social media a game-changer, he adds, "I strive to emotionally connect with my fans with every song. I draw inspiration from personal experiences, emotions, and stories that resonate with me. Being honest and vulnerable in my music allows me to create songs that people can relate to.".
