So far, Varun Dhawan has done several films in his acting career of different genres. He does get the response of the audience after the film. However, he has to face criticism from his closest people at home, when a film flops or he does bad acting.

Varun tells in a recent interview that when any of his films flops, his brother Rohit gives him a good lesson at home. Varun says, 'Brother reads out the social media reviews and comments of my film.' Similarly, father and director David Dhawan is also Varun's biggest critic. He always makes Varun aware of the truth.

Varun further says that when he started his career, he used to be jealous of his co-actor Siddharth Malhotra. Varun says that he used to think that Siddharth was tall and handsome. In such a situation, how could he be seen in front of him. This is the reason why he became insecure about Siddharth Malhotra. But later this insecurity of his went away. Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan made their Bollywood debut with the film 'Student of the Year'.

'Baby John' actor Varun Dhawan also talked about nepotism in the interview. He says that when he was doing the film 'Student of the Year' with Siddharth Malhotra, the matter of nepotism also dominated him. Even later, people said that David Dhawan made films to promote his son in films. But Varun says that when he proved himself through his first film 'Student of the Year', only then Papa (David) made a film for him.
