Manchu Mohan Babu: The Supreme Court has granted bail to senior Telugu actor and former MP Manchu Mohan Babu in the case of attacking a TV journalist.

The Supreme Court has brought great relief to former MP and veteran Telugu actor Manchu Mohan Babu. The MP has been released on bail in a case of attacking a journalist on a news channel.
A case was lodged against veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu on 11 December. Mohan Babu was accused of attacking a journalist at his residence in Jalpalli in Rangareddy district on the evening of 10 December 2024. The incident took place around 7:50 pm when the journalist, along with other media personnel, was reporting on the prevailing enmity between the actor and his son and actor Manchu Manoj.
The assault had escalated so much that the journalist had to be hospitalized and suffered multiple fractures in his zygomatic bone. An FIR has been registered against the senior actor for assault. In fact, former MP Mohan Babu, enraged when a news channel reporter asked him about the ongoing dispute with his actor son Manchu Manoj, snatched the mic and attacked him while abusing him.
Speaking on the matter, Mohan Babu's son Vishnu Manchu clarified that the incident happened accidentally and unintentionally. He assured that they are in touch with the injured journalist Ranjit and his family and are helping them.
The Manchu family has been in the headlines due to the growing dispute between Mohan Babu and Manchu Manoj over property and family issues. Mohan Babu accused Manoj of illegally occupying his house, while Manoj alleged that his father always showed favoritism towards his brother Vishnu Manchu.
