Sonu Nigam shared a post concerning Rajasthan government, upset with IIFA for not getting nomination
Sonu Nigam, IIFA Awards 2025: Famous singer Sonu Nigam has come into the limelight due to one of his social media posts. In this post, he has taken a dig at IIFA and the bureaucracy of Rajasthan. What is the whole matter? Know

Recently the 25th IIFA Awards were held in Jaipur. Sonu Nigam posted after the IIFA function, which is now going viral on the internet. Here he made a jibe against IIFA and also cornered the government of Rajasthan with love. The reason behind the same is the fact that Sonu Nigam received not even a nomination, let alone the award in IIFA. Two days after the award function ended, Sonu Nigam posted sharing the names of all the nominated singers.
Sonu Nigam uploaded a message on Instagram. He uploaded a list where the names of the singers nominated for the Best Singer award this time are mentioned. The names are Badshah, Jubin Nautiyal, Diljit Dosanjh, and some others. Sonu Nigam's name is not mentioned. Sonu Nigam has written a caption with the post, 'Thank you IIFA... After all you were answerable to the Rajasthan bureaucracy.'
It is known that this time the Best Singer award was given to Jubin Nautiyal for the song 'Dua'. Sonu Nigam's name is missing from the nomination list, let alone the award. The reason behind this is being linked to an incident in December 2024. Sonu Nigam also attended the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit held in Jaipur in December last year. There, something happened that Sonu Nigam got very angry even then.
In fact, Sonu Nigam also performed at the event held in Jaipur in December 2024. Other ministers including Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma also attended this event. When Sonu Nigam was singing on stage, suddenly in the middle of his performance, the CM and the rest of the ministers got up and left. Sonu Nigam had then criticized this by sharing a post on social media. He had written, 'Leaving in the middle of any artist's performance is an insult to art. It is an insult to the artist'. Now it is being claimed that it is possible that Sonu Nigam is linking the matter of not getting a nomination in IIFA to this incident.
Sonu Nigam's fans have come together on this post. Along with this, some singers and film personalities have also reacted. Actor Sanket Bhosale has written, 'Perfect song sir. You yourself are an award. Jai Ho'. Musician Amrit Sharma has written, 'Did you write Arijit Singh by mistake?' Amaal Malik has written, 'We live in this world. You have made a joke of it'. It is known that Shreya Ghoshal got the Best Female Singer Award. She was given the IIFA Award for the song 'Mere Dholna' from 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3'. Sonu Nigam also sang this song, whose part 'Bhola Bhola Tha, Seedha-Sada Tha' was liked a lot. But, Sonu Nigam was not even included in the nominations.
