Shama Sikander was about to commit suicide after getting the disease from grandmother
Well-known TV and Bollywood actress Shama Sikander may be away from the acting world today, but for some reason or the other, she remains in the limelight. Recently, the actress has recalled that bad phase when she wanted to end her life. She said that due to which disease she got from her grandmother, she started thinking of committing suicide.
Shama Sikander, who made her film debut with Fardeen Khan in 1998 with the film Prem Aag, made her television debut after appearing in numerous films and quickly became well-known in every household.
Shama Sikander's successful career in 'Yeh Meri Life' came to an end when she experienced the lowest point of her life and came dangerously close to suicide. Shama Sikander was actually suffering from mental health issues such as depression and bipolar disorder. In a recent interview, she addressed this issue.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Shama Sikander said, "15 years ago I was in a bad phase. I had severe depression and bipolar disorder. Then I came to know that my grandmother can also have bipolar disorder because it is genetic. She also used to do such things, seeing as people used to say that she was possessed by a ghost. I have also done similar things. Since I am sensible and live in today's time, I was able to understand that I am not possessed by a ghost. That's when I left my career and the industry."
The 'Mann' actress further said that she had tried to commit suicide, but her family saved her. The actress said that she wanted to be born again as another person. She was tired of making people happy. After taking sleeping pills, the actress shared her bank details with her brother, who was attending a wedding. On the other hand, her mother was reading the Quran.
When Shama suddenly sent bank details to her brother, he got suspicious and called her mother. When her mother went to wake her up, she did not wake up and she was taken to the hospital. The actress says that even 6 people were unable to wake her up. The doctors removed the poison from her body throughout the night and then she was saved.
