Shabana Azmi called Bollywood Jugaadu, shared stories of shooting her Hollywood film

One of the most well-known actresses in India, Shabana Azmi has worked in Bollywood for 50 years. Shabana Azmi's acting has a certain quality. In a recent interview, the actress talked about her memories of South star Rajinikanth during the shooting of her Hollywood movie "City of Joy."

The Shabana-Rajinikanth pair was literally lapped up when their film together released. In a recent interview, Shabana recounts an amusing incident during the shooting of a film in Ooty with South Star: "During the shooting, we were just surrounded by people, and I did not know what to do. Rajinikanth went out, spoke to the crowd in Tamil-he asked them to clear the place. He told the crowd that some actors have come from Mumbai, and it is their duty to behave well. The moment Rajinikanth said this, the crowd dispersed, and we got a place to work. The actress said something similar happened during the 'City of Joy' shoot and then she remembered Rajinikanth.

She added, "Doing a film in Hollywood was a big deal, really; the directors there were learning, too, from the way films are made here in India.". The actress, in an interview, said, "When the rain machine in LA stopped working, rain was created using pipes. When permission for a particular location wasn't being given, I spoke to CM Basu da. The outside directors were surprised to see why an actor is handling everything himself". Shabana added, "We Indians may not be used to perfect planning, but we know Jugaad".

Shabana Azmi entered her 50th year as an actress. The actress was last seen in 2023 films 'Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani' and 'Ghoomar'. However, the actress is all set to be a part of Rajkumar Santoshi's 'Lahore 1947', which hits the screens on January 26, 2025.
