Rotary Fun Fiesta 2023: Entertainment with a Purpose

The Rotary Club of Mumbai Bhandup kicked off its first-ever "Rotary Fun Fiesta" from December 15th to 17th in Bhandup, Mumbai. This wasn't just a typical entertainment event; it was a platform to connect families through fun, raise awareness about the club's philanthropic work, and gather much-needed funds for their various initiatives.

The Rotary Club has a long history of serving the underprivileged. Some of their ongoing projects include:

• Cataract Free Bhandup: Over 350 free cataract surgeries have been performed.
• Paediatric Heart Surgeries: Providing critical care to children with heart problems.
• Tailoring Training with Job Guarantee: Empowering individuals with skills and employment opportunities.
• Pink Auto Project: Empowering women by training them to drive and providing them with subsidized autorickshaws.
• Education Loan: Helping students pursue their educational dreams.

The Fun Fiesta was a vibrant celebration with a heart. It featured a diverse lineup of entertainment, including:

• Comedy night: Laughter and lighthearted fun for the whole family.
• Musical evening: Melodies and rhythms to uplift the spirits.
• Fashion show: Stunning designs by AIFT founder Seema Kshirsagar, showcasing the work of Dr. Chatursing Khalsa's Zen Asia Foundation.
• Play-back Theatre: Engaging performances by Divya Doshi and team.

But the highlight of the event was undoubtedly the creation of a 33-foot-tall cardboard Christmas tree! This impressive feat broke the world record for the tallest cardboard Christmas tree, previously held by a 20-foot tree in London. This achievement stands as a testament to the dedication and creativity of the Rotary Club and the Bhandup community.

President Rtn. Jennifer Isaac of the Rotary Club of Mumbai Bhandup emphasized that the Fun Fiesta aimed to spread awareness about their work and raise funds to continue serving the underprivileged.
