Rahul Bose calls himself a starlet, says he got less paid than Kareena for the film 'Chameli'
Rahul Bose: The fees of actors have been a big issue in Bollywood. Often, there has been talk of gender-based pay inequality in the industry. Now actor Rahul Bose has also given his opinion on this matter. He also talked about the fees he got.

Rahul Bose was seen in the lead role with Kareena Kapoor in the film 'Chameli', released in 2003. However, Rahul Bose believes that Kareena Kapoor was the main star of that film. The actor also said that his fees for the film were just a small part of the fees Kareena got.
According to PTI, while speaking at the Mardon Wali Baat conference, actor Rahul Bose also spoke openly about the financial inequality in Bollywood. The actor said, "Male actors have also played the role of 'starlet' over the years. I myself am an example of this. In the film 'Chameli', I was the starlet and Kareena was the star. She can still bring more people to the theatres than me."
The actor further added, "In the film 'Chameli', I was paid less than Kareena. Which is logical too. For those who can bring more people to the theatres, it would be better if their ratio is also taken care of and that has happened. This pattern continued because I was never an actor who brought the audience to the theatres."
Rahul Bose further spoke on the matter of payment and said, "I find the pattern of payment in Bollywood right. Here, the earnings of an actor depend on his box office appeal. Whoever can bring the most people to the theatres, will be paid accordingly." After producing two films himself, the actor realized that he would not have paid himself more than what he had. Dismissing the debate on gender pay inequality, he said the system is straightforward, if an actor brings revenue, they earn more, if not, their salary reflects it.
Rahul Bose was last seen in the spy thriller film 'Berlin', which came out last year. The film was released on the OTT platform ZEE5. The film also featured actors like Aparshakti Khurana, Ishwak Singh, Kabir Bedi, and Anupriya Goenka along with Rahul Bose.
