Priyadarshan Encourages the Adoption of Ayurveda as a Way of Life

Acclaimed filmmaker Priyadarshan inaugurated the Founder's Day celebrations of the Vaidyaratnam Group on Wednesday, commemorating the 26th death anniversary of Ashtavaidyan E.T. Neelakandan Mooss (1904-1997), the esteemed founder of the Vaidyaratnam Group.

During the event, Priyadarshan highlighted the significant role played by veteran actor Madhu in promoting the virtues of Ayurveda in the film industry. He shared that Madhu, during the Malayalam month of Karkkidakam, dedicated himself to Ayurvedic rejuvenation therapy by refraining from acting and other film-related activities. Inspired by Madhu's advice, Priyadarshan, along with Mohanlal, Sathyan Anthikkad, and himself, also embraced Ayurvedic treatments.

Priyadarshan emphasized the immense potential of Ayurveda as a comprehensive healthcare system and called for its widespread adoption as a lifestyle choice, recognizing its holistic benefits.

In his commemorative speech, writer and journalist K.C. Narayanan stressed the importance of accurate diagnosis as the most significant quality of a doctor. He advocated for a balanced integration of the best practices from traditional and modern healthcare systems to lead a healthy lifestyle, highlighting the traditional methods of diagnosis based on smell, touch, and sight.

Ashtavaidyan E.T. Neelakandan Mooss, the Managing Director of the Vaidyaratnam Group, presided over the event, reaffirming their commitment to preserving the values handed down by their predecessors. P. Balachandran, MLA, presented academic awards to students, while music director Vidyadharan and executive directors Ashtavaidyan E.T. Yadu Narayanan Mooss and Ashtavaidyan E.T. Krishnan Mooss were among the distinguished guests in attendance.

The Founder's Day seminar sessions featured classes by Varghese James, C.M. Sreekrishnan, P.M. Madhu, and Abdul Rauf, with Rachitha Warrier moderating the discussions.
