Pritam reacts to allegations of plagiarism against Blackpink star Jennie, makes this appeal to the people
Pritam: Musician Pritam has now made a special appeal to the people on the allegations of Blackpink star Jennie stealing the tune of Alia's theme song in the film 'Rocky and Rani'. Know what the musician said.
Over the last few days, Blackpink artist Jennie's new song 'Like Jennie' has been trending continuously in India. The reason is that Blackpink artist Jennie has been accused of plagiarism. In fact, Jennie's new song 'Like Jennie' is said to be a copy of the theme song of Alia's character Rani in Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh's film 'Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani' by Pritam. Due to this, Jennie has been accused of plagiarism. Now Pritam has come out in support of Jennie in this matter.
'Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani' music composer Pritam dismissed the claims of plagiarism and made it clear that minor similarities in music are common. After the matter continued to escalate, musician Pritam himself responded to the matter through an Instagram post, defending Jenny. In his post, Pritam wrote, "Rani and Jenny are names that rhyme, so just because a line or phrase sounds or sounds similar does not make it a copy. In music, minor similarities are bound to happen, whether in rhyme, phrase, or within the same genre. Instead of focusing on the little things, one should focus on its larger significance."
Pritam further said, "In today's time where artists share the same platform, no one is deliberately trying to copy someone else's work. It takes a lot of hard work to create a song and if an artist really connects with an idea, they can easily collaborate."
Pritam appealed to people to celebrate artists and their work, not criticize or target them. Explaining the nuances of music and its creativity, the musician said, “Music is all about creativity, artistic vision, and sometimes, similarities, especially when artists are doing the same kind of work. Instead of demeaning artists, it makes more sense to celebrate their work. Best of luck to Jenny for her new album.”
