According to news agency PTI, doctors have said that the actor has been admitted to the hospital after complaining of chest pain. Apart from this, the 85-year-old actor is also facing sodium-potassium imbalance and other health problems.
On Sunday evening, one of the doctors treating the senior actor told news agency PTI, 'Manoj Mitra's condition is critical. He has been kept under observation. Manoj Mitra is well-known for his brilliant performances in films such as Tapan Sinha's 'Bancharamar Bagan', as well as legendary director Satyajit Ray's classics 'Ghare Baire' and 'Ganashatru'.
The 85-year-old actor has also appeared in films by legendary directors Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Basu Chatterjee, Tarun Majumdar, Shakti Samanta, and Gautam Ghosh. Apart from that, he has written over 100 plays. Aside from numerous awards, Manoj Mitra received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Best Playwright in 1985.
