PM Modi remembered Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Sobhita-Naga Chaitanya expressed gratitude
Naga-Sobhita: Prime Minister Modi remembered Telugu cinema legend Akkineni Nageswara Rao during the 117th episode of the radio program Mann Ki Baat. On the occasion of Akkineni Nageswara Rao's birth centenary, the Prime Minister talked about his contribution to cinema. Actor Naga Chaitanya and his wife Sobhita Dhulipala thanked Prime Minister Modi for this. Akkineni Nageswara Rao is Naga Chaitanya's grandfather.
In this Sunday address by PM Modi's, he honored actor Nagarjuna's father and Telugu cinema legend Akkineni Nageswara Rao on his birth centenary year. He talked about his important contribution to Telugu cinema. The Prime Minister said in the Mann Ki Baat program that Akkineni Nageswara Rao showed Indian traditions and values in a very beautiful way in Telugu cinema.
Actor Nagarjuna's son and South Indian actor Naga Chaitanya posted a post on social media addressed to the Prime Minister. In which he wrote- 'Modi ji, thank you for your words about ANR Garu's artistic ability, his efforts. He has made a very important contribution to taking Telugu cinema forward. Your thoughts about him mean a lot to us. I am grateful to you for this.'
Naga Chaitanya's wife and actress Shobhita Dhulipala also expressed her gratitude to the Prime Minister in an Instagram post. She re-tweeted Naga Chaitanya's post.
In his seven-decade career, Akkineni Nageswara Rao acted in many great films like 'Vipra Narayan', 'Tenali Krishna', 'Shri Ramadasu', 'Laila Majnu' and 'Balaraju'. His cinema was used to entertain the audience as well as give a message for life. Actor Nagarjuna shared a clip from Mann Ki Baat and wrote a message expressing gratitude while tagging Prime Minister Modi. Nagarjuna X writes on Twitter, 'Thank you Hon'ble Prime Minister Modi ji for honoring my father, ANR Garu, along with eminent legends on his centenary year.'
Apart from Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Prime Minister Modi remembered Raj Kapoor, Mohammed Rafi, and Tapan Sinha on their birth centenary year. The Prime Minister said- 'In 2024, we are celebrating the birth centenary of many film personalities who have played an important role in making the country recognized worldwide.'
