One of the old songs 'Gupchup' from the film 'Karan Arjun' was a huge hit. Even today, people listen to this song a lot. Along with praise, a section has also criticized it a lot. It was allegedly called 'obscene'. This song was sung by popular singers Ila Arun and Alka Yagnik together. Recently, Ila Arun was seen sharing her views on the song.

Ila Arun, who adorned many classic songs in Bollywood with her melodious voice, says that those songs were never obscene. Ila Arun has talked about the song 'Gupchup Gupchup' of the film Karan Arjun with India Today. She said, "Those songs were not obscene but only playful. There was a light mischievousness.". Allow me to tell you that this song was composed by Rajesh Roshan. It was written by Indeevar.

Ila Arun said, 'There is a thin line between obscenity and teasing'. She further went on to say, 'The song Choli Ke Peeche had come, people tried undervaluing it, but it was never a dirty song. It was a funny song. Like Aati Kya Khandala or Choli Ke Peeche. These songs were fun. People who have not lived in villages or grown up in big joints may not understand them. There were no TVs in those days. People used to make their songs on every occasion, be it a wedding or Holi'.

Ila Arun said, 'These songs were sung at family gatherings where bhabhis would tease each other or there would be funny banter between devar and bhabhi. But today, the songs have crossed the line of vulgarity. There is a lot of difference between vulgarity and funny teasing. Choli ke peeche, Gup chup, all these songs were fun-filled. There was no vulgarity in them'. Arun also expressed concern over the current trend of remaking classic songs.
