Unni Mukundan's film 'Marco' has faced a major setback. The film has already started being streamed on the OTT. The Central Board of Film Certification has made a request to block the film. The chairman of the board has been requested by a CBFC official to appeal to the central government to block the movie from being streamed on the OTT. The film 'Marco' has been deemed to be one of the most violent films in the Malayalam film trade.

CBFC has already declined permission to telecast it on the basis of excessive violence shown in the film. The violence shown in this film was already criticized by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. This film will take the young ones towards real-life violence, says him.

Speaking to Manorama News, CBFC regional officer Nadeem Tufail said that 'CBFC has already given an A certificate to Marco. Parents should warn their children before watching the film. CBFC's role is limited to certification and does not include censorship. We have already banned its telecast on TV because this film is not for family audiences.'

On the film, Unni Mukundan says that 'Violence has been an important part of human development. We have got peace due to war. Above all, our biggest goal is to survive. I am not saying that this is an excuse to show violence on screen, but the truth is that violence exists in our society. Marco does not show even 10 percent of the violence that exists in our society.'
