Late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar's 50th birth anniversary, India Post releases postcard

Puneeth Rajkumar was a known face in Kannada films. A few years ago, this popular South Indian actor said goodbye to the world. But his memories still live in the hearts of the audience. Now, India Post released a postcard marking the actor's 50th birth anniversary.

Postom Master General of Karnataka Circle S Rajendra Kumar told PTI, 'To celebrate the 50th birth anniversary of actor Puneeth, we have released picture postcards in collaboration with Appu's Gandhadagudi Agarbatti. Puneet Rajkumar's birthday is on March 17. Rajendra Kumar further says, 'People who collect postcards can get Puneet Rajkumar's postcards from the Philatelic Bureau of Karnataka.'

Puneet Rajkumar started his acting career as a child artist. He also received the Best Child Artist (33rd National Film Awards) award for the film 'Bettada Hoovu'. In the year 2002, the film named 'Appu' was the first film of his young film career. Due to this film, the audience also started calling him Appu affectionately. After this, Puneet gave many hit films. The media and fans started considering him the power star of Kannada films.

Puneet died on 29 October 2021 due to a heart attack five years ago. Fans came out on the streets to see Puneet for the last time. Due to this, Section 144 had to be imposed in Karnataka. His body was kept in a stadium for two days so that people could see him for the last time. In these two days, about 30 lakh people came to see Puneeth for the last time and pay their tributes to him. Kannada cinema really felt incomplete after Puneeth's departure.
