The film 'Laapata Ladies' has been winning the hearts of the people since its release. The film was directed and critically acclaimed by Kiran Rao. In fact, recenlty, the film has been shortlisted for the Japan Academy Film Prize 2024. Laapata Ladies has been running in Japan theaters for 115 days. The winner of the Best International Film will be announced during the awards ceremony on March 14.

Other nominees in this category include Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, Yorgos Lanthimos's Poor Things, Jonathan Glazer's The Zone of Interest, and Alex Garland's Civil War. A Jio Studios presentation, Missing Ladies is directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande. Whereas, its a screenplay by Biplab Goswami. While the screenplay and dialogues are written by Sneha Desai, the additional dialogues are written by Divyanidhi Sharma.
