'Kantara: Chapter 1' shooting is ongoing, no one injured in bus accident

Several media reports stated on Monday that the shooting of Rishab Shetty's film 'Kantara: Chapter 1' has been halted after a bus accident near the set. The reports also claimed that the junior artists of the team were seriously injured in the accident. However, according to reports, a new statement shared by the film's team on Monday, November 25, stated that the shooting of the film is continuing as per schedule and no crew member was injured in the bus accident.

A source associated with the production confirmed and said in the statement that the shooting began at 6 am on Monday and the accident happened 20 km away from the shooting location. It further stated that the vehicle that met with the accident was a local bus and only a few members of the ‘Kantara’ team were traveling in it and the news is completely false. "The news is completely false. The team of ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ resumed shooting at 6 am today and everything is going on normally. A minor accident took place 20 km from the shooting location, involving a local bus carrying a few members of the Kantara team. However, no injuries have been reported," the statement said.

Reports also claimed that six crew and the supporting cast of the film were injured in the bus accident. They were rushed to Jadakkal Mahalakshmi Clinic for immediate medical attention. Reports said that the accident occurred when the members were returning to Kollur after shooting in Mudur, Karnataka.

Kantara: Chapter 1' is written and directed by Rishab Shetty. The film will be released on October 2, 2025, all over the world. This is the prequel to the 2022 blockbuster mythological action film 'Kantara' of Shetty. For the film 'Kantara', Rishab Shetty has also received a National Award.
