Kalki 2898 AD, is to be in cinemas on June 27, the beginning of the countdown to the 'final war'

Kalki 2898 is an upcoming Indian epic dystopian science fiction film featuring popular celebrities, including Amitabh Bachan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Disha Patani. The story unfolds in Kashi, directed by Nag Ashwin.

The first glimpse of the Kalki 2898 trailer was released on June 10, captivating a mass audience. The consistent hype also resulted in the release of the second trailer on June 21 with the official poster. There are controversies revolving around the film. Hollywood concept artist Oliver Beck tweeted that his work has been plagiarized in the trailer for Vyjayanthi Movies. The film makers had approached him to work on the film, but after discussions fell through, he, with proof, claimed this on social media. 

The star cast of Kalki 2898 AD came together at a national press launch in Mumbai on Wednesday and revealed the details of the film. The film writer Nag Ashwin stated in a video message that it reveals the wealthy life in luxury within the complex, a massive mega-city structure in the shape of an inverted pyramid that towers over Kashi. 

It's said that Kalki is the 10th and final incarnation of the God Vishnu, who is remembered to end the Kali Yug, the darkest period in history. The mom to be, Deepak Padukone, quoted, "It's been a great learning experience, a completely new world."
