Jisshu Sengupta joins Akshay Kumar's 'Bhoot Bangla', makers announce on birthday

In the meantime, now one more new artist has been added to it.

A new entry has been made in the cast of the upcoming horror-comedy film 'Bhoot Bangla', directed by Priyadarshan. Balaji Telefilms made the announcement on the birthday of Jishu Sengupta on Saturday. Jisshu Sengupta has been added to the existing star-studded cast of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar, and Wamiqa Gabbi.

'Bhoot Bangla' is a production of Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms and Kumar's own production house, Cape of Good Films. The film is co-produced by Farah Sheikh and Vedant Bali. The story is written by Akash A Kaushik, while the screenplay is penned by Rohan Shankar, Abhilash Nair, and Priyadarshan. Shankar has also written the dialogues for Bhoot Bangla.

Talking about the film, Priyadarshan said last year, "It will be a new phase in the horror-comedy space. Bhoot Bangla is based on mythology and black magic. It is inspired by our Vedas and even the Mahabharata, but black magic is the dominant theme. It is a fun film." He also clarified that the story of his film has no similarity with Mehmood's film of the same name.
