James Michael Cline has passed away. He has said goodbye to the world at the age of just 64. According to media reports, he committed suicide by jumping from the 20th floor of the Kimberly Hotel in Manhattan on Tuesday morning. Former footballer James founded the Fandango movie ticketing service in 2000 and remained with the company until 2011.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) said in a statement that officers arrived at the hotel on 50th Street at 10:19 am, where officers found an unconscious man. There were many injury marks on his body, which indicated a fall from a high place. At present, the investigation of the case is still going on. Cline's address was given by him as Palm Beach, Florida, and real estate reports show that he bought a property worth $21 million there in 2020.

After leaving Fandango, James Michael Cline ran several tech firms and venture capital firms. These include hedge fund Bridgewater Associates. Along with this, he founded companies like Acumen, Insureon, and Accolade through his Accretive Company, which also invested in Fandango. He was currently serving as the executive chairman of the business incubator Juxtapoz, which helped launch companies like Orchard, Tend, Earnd, Great Jones, and Nectar.

In the entertainment world, Cline founded Fandango with Art Levitt and partnered with seven movie theaters - Loew's Cineplex Entertainment, Regal Cinemas, Carmike Cinemas, Cinemark Theatres, General Cinema Theatres, Edwards Theatres and Century Theatres. Fandango was taken over by Comcast in 2007. According to reports, Cline's run with the company ended in 2011. He was currently serving as the president of the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. He is survived by his wife Pamela and several children.
