Randeep told that the team had planned to shoot the Punjab part first. It had wrestling scenes. But later the shooting time was changed. He said that if a person living in jail remains fit, it will not look good. To make this role real, Randeep reduced his food and water intake. This deteriorated his health. According to a news, Randeep had lost 18 kg of weight to act in this film. The film Sarbjit was directed by Omung Kumar. This film starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Richa Chadha, Darshan Kumar and Ankur Bhatia.
When Randeep Hooda was asked how he loses weight, he told that he loses weight by fasting. According to him, both Hindus and Muslims keep fasts. This gives relief to the digestive system. He said that there are many diseases in the stomach and fasting removes these diseases in a natural way.
