Income Tax Department raids the premises of the makers of 'Game Changer' and 'Pushpa 2', alleged tax evasion
Raid: The Income Tax Department on Tuesday raided the premises of 'Game Changer' producer Dil Raju and 'Pushpa 2' makers.
Income Tax officials on Tuesday (January 21) raided the homes and offices of some of the well-known producers of the Telugu film industry. The list also comprises names of well-known filmmaker Dil Raju and producers of Pushpa 2. Recently, on Sankranti, two big films titled Game Changer and Sankrantiki Vasthunnam were produced by Dil Raju. He is presently serving as the Chairman of Telangana Film Development Corporation.
The Income Tax Department raids reached the house of Dil Raju as well as his business partner and producer Sirish and his daughter Hansita Reddy. Apart from this, searches are also being conducted at the premises of Maitree Movie Makers, which made Pushpa 2 The Rule. Raids have also been conducted at the houses of the producers of this production house Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravishankar and its CEO Cherry.
According to Amar Ujala sources, members of 55 teams are conducting raids at eight places in this operation. Dil Raju, who has recently been the producer of big-budget films Game Changer and Sankranti's Vastunam, is at the center of these raids. Recently, the Venkatesh starrer film made in his production house has grossed more than 100 crores at the box office. According to media reports, these raids are part of a comprehensive investigation.
