'Ice Age 6' will take the place of 'Star Wars' in Disney's 2026 release schedule
Star Wars: Disney has removed an untitled 'Star Wars' film from its 2026 release slate. The film was earlier scheduled to be released on December 18, 2026, but now it has been replaced by another film.
'Star Wars' has been very popular among the audience. Its next sequel was scheduled to be released in 2026, however, the release has now been postponed. Actually, Disney has removed an untitled 'Star Wars' film from its 2026 release slate. According to reports, the Star Wars film was earlier scheduled to be released on December 18, 2026, but now it has been removed from the release slate.
However, now the 'Star Wars' film has been replaced by another film. Now 'Ice Age 6' will replace it. Details of the Star Wars film initially slated for that date were not revealed. Last week, Disney announced that Simon Kinberg had been brought on to write and produce a Star Wars trilogy.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy will also produce the trilogy, which the report at the time claimed would feature new characters and would not be a continuation of the previous Skywalker Saga, which spanned episodes one through nine of the science-fiction film franchise.
The movie will star Daisy Ridley in the title role of Rey Skywalker, and this project is quite deep by the director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. It was at the Star Wars Celebration in London this past April 2023 that it was first mentioned. Of course, as noticed last week at D23 Brazil, word has it that production has begun with the returning voice talents of Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, and John Leguizamo in Ice Age 6.
