Poet and actress Gunjan Saini shares her thoughts on Friendship Day. She is also going to post a short video on social media dedicated to all her friends. Sharing more on her video, she says, "In the video, I have mentioned that there are some friends who understand us without an explanation, and all my friendships are like that. I have fewer friends, but they are the kind who can understand how I feel just by looking at my face. This ability to understand each other without words is a very important part of friendship. It’s something I deeply value because it shows a level of connection and empathy that goes beyond mere words.”
She also adds, "My best friend’s name is Kanchan Khilare. We met through theatre in 2018-19, and gradually, we started talking about many things and just got closer everyday. Over the time, our bond grew stronger, and now we are best friends. She has added a very special value to my life, becoming like a sister to me. As an only child, this has been incredibly meaningful. Having Kanchan in my life makes me feel like I have a sibling, someone who understands and supports me unconditionally. Her family also treats me like a part of their family, which strengthens our bond even further.” Gunjan also shares, "In today’s fast-paced world, it is very difficult to maintain friendships. Life gets busy, and we all have our responsibilities and commitments. However, true friends understand this. They don’t demand constant attention but are always there when needed. This understanding is crucial as we navigate adulthood. Despite our busy schedules, we know that we can count on each other. If one of us is busy today, we can talk tomorrow, and there are no hard feelings. This level of understanding and flexibility is an important part of friendship.”
Gunjan believes in quality over quantity as she adds,”It's about having a few close friends who truly understand and support me, rather than having many. This deep connection with Kanchan and my other close friends enriches my life and provides a strong support system that I cherish.”
