Harassment Case: Three senior IPS officers in trouble, accused in case of harassing actress
Harassment Case: Three senior IPS officers are constantly in the headlines in the case of harassing an actress. Recently all three were suspended. Now they have been made accused in this case.
Recently, three senior IPS officers of Andhra Pradesh were suspended for trapping, arresting, and harassing a Mumbai actress Kadambari Jethani earlier this year. The troubles of those three officers seem yet to diminish. Now, they have also been made accused in this case along with two other policemen.
The main accused in this case involves the YSRCP leader Kukkala Vijayasagar. Recently, he was arrested by police. The three IRS are: PSR Anjaneyulu, former intelligence chief; Kanti Rana Tata, the former commissioner of police, NTR District, and Vishal Gunni, the former DCP, NTR Rural District. Other accused in this case include Satyanarayana, former circle inspector at Ibrahimpatnam and that of Hanumantha Rao, former west zone ACP. The five officers have been accused of conspiring with Vidyasagar to frame the actor (in an alleged brazen attempt to force her to withdraw her sexual harassment complaint, pending in Mumbai.
PSR Anjaneyulu has been named as accused number two whereas Kanti Rana Tata, Hanumantha Rao, Satyanarayana, and Vishal Gunni have been named as accused number three, four, five, and six respectively. Kukkala Vidyasagar, arrested from Dehradun on Friday after being on the run for several weeks, was accused by the actress of implicating her and her family in a case of forgery and extortion. On these allegations made by Kukkala, the Andhra Pradesh police was said to have illegally detained and harassed the actress in February this year. Now, after his arrest in this case, Kukkala Vidyasagar was remanded to judicial custody till October 4 on Monday.
Significantly enough, the actress was arrested on February 2 along with her elderly parents and was let out on bail after 42 days of being in jail. A few weeks ago, she filed a complaint at the Ibrahimpatnam police stating that Vidyasagar implicated her on false charges with fabricated documents. She added that the senior officials threatened her that more false cases would be filed against her if she did not withdraw the case.
