Hansal Mehta came out in support of star kids, said this in the criticism of the film 'Nadaniyaan'

Now, senior director Hansal Mehta has defended these star kids and called these comments bad taste for the public.

Speaking to E-Times, director-producer Hansal Mehta on the criticism of the film Nadaniyaan and the audience's opinion about star kids said, "I think people are very harsh and wrong. The sad thing is, have we seen the preparation of these kids before they get a chance? The kind of comments people are making are very nasty. I am sure these comments must be quite painful for these new kids, but we forget that at one time their parents also had a very strange start. It's just that they were not in the public eye as much as they are now due to social media."

Hansal Mehta stressed that those responsible for creating, producing, and directing films should first ensure that the actors and their teams are fully prepared before launching them. The director said that it is wrong to assume that a person will be a good actor just because of his lineage or family.

Recalling an incident, Hansal said that he had approached a star kid for a film, which was an unusual film for a newcomer to debut in. But the actor's advisors felt that he should do what star kids do and make a grand entry, so that he can get the same limelight and heights that Kumar Gaurav, Hrithik Roshan, Sunny Deol, or Tiger Shroff got.

Hansal Mehta further said, "Star kids want to be launched under a big banner, whether they have a big idea or not. They want a big person to keep advising them all the time. Then when I see people making fun of them, I feel very sad. All I tell them is to keep their head down and just focus on their work. As soon as they do well in something, no matter how good or bad it does at the box office, they will get respect. Their first goal should be to get respect for their work." 'Nadaniyaan', made under the banner of Karan Johar's Dharma Production House, was released on Netflix. The film depicts the love story of a new age boy and girl.
