Diljit Dosanjh has been gunning for world domination since the very beginning. The Punjabi singer-actor has recently conquered the US as he performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, created history at Coachella and at the North American box office with his romantic comedy in Punjabi Jatt & Juliet 3. Now, he has his eyes set on Canada.

Diljit performed in Canada last weekend at the Rogers Centre in Toronto. He made history again as he became the first-ever Punjabi artist to sell out the arena. Diljit took to his Instagram Stories to share bits of his performance on popular tracks like 'Born To Shine.' A huge crowd cheered for him when he came on board. He also posted a video on his feed in which he got a surprise visit from Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Justin, in a white t-shirt and brown trousers, met Diljit before the show. Diljit, in yellow striped shirt and red turban, beamed with joy on meeting the Canadian PM as they shared a hug. Justin also met Diljits team and crew as they made him and Diljit cheer the singers trademark line, "Punjabi aa gaye oye" (Punjabis are here).

It was Diljit who captioned, "Diversity is's strength. Prime Minister @justinpjtrudeau came to check out history in the making: we sold out the Rogers Centre! " Justin also shared the same video on his feed and a carousel post of pictures with Diljit and his crew. He captioned it, "Swung by Rogers Centre to wish @diljitdosanjh luck before his show. Canada is a great country – one where a guy from Punjab can make history and sell out stadiums. Diversity isn't just our strength,.

It’s a superpower.” Notably, Diljit's fans inundated the comment section of his post in celebration of this new breakthrough. One of them commented, "Punjabis are making India famous. Doing them on the map! Punjabi has come ✋️ EYES"" Another wrote, "Collab No one expected ????" "2024 is the year of unexpected crossovers," said another Instagram user.
