Dia Mirza hits back at Revanth Reddy, refutes claims of fake AI videos of tree felling

Bollywood actress Dia Mirza on Sunday refuted strongly the allegations by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy that she had shared fake AI-created videos on the subject of the current tree felling row in Gachibowli. She condemned such allegations on her X handle and called on him to check facts before speaking.

She tweeted, 'Telangana CM made a tweet yesterday. He made some claims about the situation in Kancha Gachibowli. One of them was that I used fake AI-generated pictures/videos in support of the protest by students to protect biodiversity on 400 acres of land that the government wanted to auction.'

She said, 'This is a completely false statement. I have not posted a single photo or video that has been created by AI. The media and the Telangana government should verify the facts before making such claims.' In fact, the students of Hyderabad University are protesting against the Telangana government's plan, under which 400 acres of land bordering the university is to be auctioned and developed and urban infrastructure and IT parks are to be built in the ecologically sensitive area.

Earlier, Diya had tweeted on X, urging the youth to raise awareness in the country and save forests and green areas. She wrote, 'The youth of our country know better and are forcing the authorities to do better, so there is hope. India needs its forests and biodiversity and our youth are raising awareness. Raising their voices and inspiring action. We hear you, we see you, we stand with you.'
