Chris Sanders made a major announcement regarding the sequel after seeing the success of "The Wild Robot"

In 2024, the animated movie 'The Wild Robot' achieved remarkable income at the US box office. On October 18, this movie will now be available in Indian theatres. In less than a month after its premiere in US theatres, DreamWorks Animation has revealed significant information regarding its follow-up. The sequel to 'The Wild Robot' is currently in the development stage, according to the makers. The same-titled children's book by Peter Brown served as the inspiration for the movie. The narrative centres on Rose, a robot played by Lupita Nyong'o.

Meanwhile, the report adds, a sequel for 'The Wild Robot' has already begun construction. During the Deadline Contenders, Chris Sanders mentioned that there was a full plan concerning the making of the film for a second installment. He did not mention any other information about the film. One could just assume that it was at an early stage concerning its development.

The Wild Robot' tells the story of a helper robot Rose voiced by Lupita Nyong'o that reaches an inhabited island. While adjusting to the surroundings, she becomes a mother to an orphaned swan named Brightbill voiced by Kit O'Connor and makes friends with other island animals voiced by Catherine O'Hara, Pedro Pascal, amongst many others. This animated movie and its storyline were reviewed positively for both audiences and critics. The movie collected around Rs 842 cr in the US theatres.

In addition to being a director, Chris Sanders is an outstanding animator. In addition to co-writing and co-directing "How to Train Your Dragon" and "Lilo & Stitch," he also voiced the endearing blue monster Stitch in the latter picture, solidifying his reputation as a voice actor. Chris Sanders has been nominated for three Academy Awards. Speaking of "The Wild Robot," it will be available in 3D and IMAX theatres nationwide on October 18 in both Hindi and English.
