Alia's film 'Jigra' controversy: Divya Khosla Kumar's team accused of stealing the story
Jigra: Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina starrer film 'Jigra' is going to be released this coming Friday. Meanwhile, Divya Khosla's team has accused the film of stealing the story, due to which the film seems to be surrounded by controversies.
Jigra is releasing on Friday casting Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina. The storyline of the film is going to be emotionally intense showcasing the relationship between brother and sister. However, the film seems to be surrounded by controversies just a day before it's release. This is in the note by PR of actress Divya Khosla's, wherein she says that Alia 'stole' the script of her film and alongside Vasan Bala and Dharma Productions made some changes and brought it out as Jigra.
In fact, according to the note issued by Divya Khosla's team, actually 'Jigra' has been made upon the storyline which they had stolen of her film 'Saavi'. The note said that Mukesh Bhatt had bought the rights of The Next Three Days for Rs 4 crore. At that time, both Bhatt brothers were together and Alia was in the know of things. After the Bhatt brothers separated, Alia gave the screenplay to another production house without caring that her uncle would lose all the money spent on the rights.
The letter further stated that Mukesh Bhatt was making a film with Divya Khosla in the lead role and during the shooting of this film, he came to know that Alia had announced the same film based on Jailbreak, wherein the husband-wife angle had been changed to brother-sister angle, appealing to Alia to desist from the film. While the note did say, "Alia calls herself the biggest actress in the country, but does not think before betraying her 72-year-old uncle." Saavi was released some time ago and Jigra will be released soon.
Talking about the film, it is going to be let loose on October 11. The film delineates the emotional relationship between brother and sister. The screenplay of the film has been penned down by Vasan along with Debashish Irengbam. The film is presented by Viacom18 Studios, Dharma Productions and Eternal Sunshine Productions, produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt and Somen Mishra. The movie will hit the box office in an epic clash with Rajkumar Rao and Tripti Dimri's comedy film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
