The film 'Laapataa Ladies' is India's official entry for the Oscars 2025, and has been renamed to Lost Ladies, as it is about to come on the international stage. According to Variety's report, the film's team, which started its Academy Award campaign, has now got a huge boost with the support of director Alfonso Cuaron. The director will be present to host the screening of the film in London on December 5.

The report said that Alfonso Cuaron will host the screening of the BAFTA campaign for the film. The report states that the team is keen to promote the film through in-person screenings, which will also include sessions at the BAFTA headquarters. Jyoti Deshpande, producer of Jio Studios, said, "Everyone who has seen the film has loved it and it has impacted people from different cultures. Although it is a satire, everyone who has seen it is loving it."

She said further, "India has done so much for the global film industry, in terms of the number of films that are being produced to the richness in culture with so many different languages ​​spoken. I think India's time has come, India's matured to actually receive the Oscar". Alfonso Cuaron is one of the world's acclaimed filmmakers; he has directed films such as Y Tu Mamá También, Gravity, and Roma among others. He has also been a two-time Oscar recipient as Best Director.

Aamir kickstarted the Oscar campaign for the much-talked-about film earlier last month. The actor attended a dinner event at Vikas Khanna's restaurant The Bungalow in New York As the award ceremony is slowly approaching, the actor is currently in New York for the Oscar campaign of his production venture, which releases as 'Lost Ladies' in the US. He was joined by his ex-wife and the film's director Kiran Rao. Lapata Ladies is produced by his production company Aamir Khan Productions in association with Kindling Pictures and Jio Studios. It stars Nitanshi Goyal, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Srivastava, Ravi Kishan, Chhaya Kadam and Geeta Agarwal Sharma.
