Akshay Kumar's popular anti-smoking 'Nandu ad' will not be shown in theaters anymore. According to Bollywood Hungama, Censor Board CBFC has refused to show Ad of Akshay Kumar and replaced a new one in its replacement. The new advertisement, which was taken in place of Akshay's popular ad, stated that after quitting tobacco positive changes in the body can happen just within 20 minutes of its consumption. But this ad was removed for the exact reasons of Akshay Kumar are not known yet.
This ad used to be shown in cinema halls before the communion of the film as an awareness ad for six years. The new campaign hit the cinema halls together with recently released films, which included Alia Bhatt's 'Jigra' and 'Vicky Aur Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' starring Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri.
This Akshay Kumar ad was launched around his 2018 release 'Gold'. This ad also played an important role in the promotion of his film 'Padman'. The ad has actor Ajay Singh Pal playing the role of Nandu, who is seen smoking a cigarette near the hospital. The moment Akshay Kumar approaches him, he begins talking about his wife's problems. Akshay explains to him that the money spent on two cigarettes can be used to purchase sanitary pads.
An official from Multiplex told the news portal that this anti-smoking ad was a favorite because it carried an important message sans any distracting visuals, according to various media reports. He said it was hilarious to see the film viewers repeating the dialogues of this ad as they had watched for six years and knew all the lines by heart. He said many fans will surely miss this ad.
