Japanese media said Nobuyo Oyama had died of natural causes. Fans both in Japan and elsewhere are saddened by the news of her death. The agency reported that Oyama had died on September 29 because of old age, stating, "We apologize for not having an announcement until now." They said: 'We all here at this agency would wish to extend our profound appreciation to the late for the support you accorded them while they lived.' The agency, however, said a private funeral was held for Oyama, which relatives attended.
She was born in Tokyo in 1933. She started his career as a voice artist in 1957. She had given a voice to a character named Lassie. Then, She gave a voice to Hustle Punch on between 1965 and 1966. She voiced the main character Punch. Then, She voiced Kappei Jin in Invincible Super Man Zambot 3.
She was diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2001 and officially retired from all kinds of roles. However, she continued voicing Doraemon. However, in 2005, Oyama finally decided to retire as Doraemon too. Oyama had said at that time, 'I hope Doraemon will remain a loved character even in the distant future.' She returned to the sector in 2010 as the voice of Monokuma in the hit video game series Danganronpa. The voice artist was married to actor Keisuke Sagawa since 1964, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2012 and died in 2017.
