Actor named himself Prateik Smita Patil, Priya revealed about Raj Babbar

Priya Banerjee and Prateik Babbar got married on Valentine's Day. Priya said that she does not want to comment on the reason that Raj Babbar wasn't invited to the wedding. Prateik dropped his father's name and added the name of his mother.

In a recent interview with Times India, Raj Babbar was questioned about his absence from the wedding of Prateik and Priya. In response to this, Priya said that she does not want to talk about it. People should find out what happened in someone's life in this matter. She further said in the conversation that both of them are silent just out of respect and dignity. Referring to Raj Babbar, he said that he was never family, why are people raising this question after 30 years. Speaking in the interview, Prateik said that he would talk about it when the right time comes.

Prateik Babbar has changed his name to Prateik Smita Patil. He abandoned his father Raj Babbar's name by adopting his late mother's name. Also, the actor said that he is not thinking about anyone, he is just thinking about what he and his soul like. He further said that he wants to connect with his mother's legacy.

Prateik Babbar and Priya Banerjee got married on 14 February 2025, in which neither Raj Babbar was seen nor his step-siblings Juhi and Arya Babbar were seen. After the absence of the Babbar family on such an important day, speculations are being made that perhaps there has been some distance in Prateik's relationship with the Babbar family. Or there is some resentment. A round of questions is going on with him regarding this.

Prateik Babbar got married in Smita Patil's house in Bandra. This house was bought by the actress. Talking to Vogue India, Prateik had said, 'We wanted a home wedding and marrying the love of my life here... is such an experience. This is the first house my mother bought and my home... is the best way to honor her soul'. After the death of Smita Patil, Prateik was raised by his maternal grandparents.
