Karnataka High Court has granted bail to the actor Darshan Thugudeepa in Renuka Swamy's murder case. Apart from Darshan, the court has also granted bail to Pavitra and other accused.
In June this year, 33-year-old auto driver Renuka Swamy was found dead on a flyover in Bengaluru. Media reports said that Renuka was a fan of actor Darshan. He was kidnapped at the behest of Dinesh. After this, he was murdered. Renuka died because he was harassing Darshan's female friend Pavitra Gowda.
In this high-profile murder case, the police arrested several accused including actor Darshan, and his friend Pavitra. Renuka's alleged murder took place in Pattanagere village of Bengaluru. Renuka was beaten to death. Then Darshan was informed about Renuki's death on his WhatsApp. To dispose of the body, everyone reached Kamakshipalya, and Renuka's body was thrown near the drain there. To divert the matter, the accused surrendered at the police station and presented it as a dispute over Rs 30 lakh.
In this case, the police did not believe the accused during the investigation. Further investigation revealed the truth. In this case, the police arrested many accused including Darshan and Pavitra. The accused told the police that they were given Rs 30 lakh to kill Renuka. Out of this, 5 lakh was given to them in advance.
Police investigation showed that Darshan was the mastermind in this murder case. Renuka was kidnapped by deceit on June 8, then kept in a shed in the Kamakshipalya area of Bengaluru and tortured. In the end, Renuka was beaten so much that she died. Darshan was sent to jail in this case. Meanwhile, there were reports that Darshan was being given VIP treatment there. This was investigated and senior officials of the prison department have been summoned.
